The Lake Association sponsors a variety of activities and programs to benefit members.
Informational Programs — The Association sponsors informational programs at its monthly meetings. Topics have included water quality, CPR and safety, area birds, dragonflies, moose, beavers, the history of logging in the area, forestry, fishing, and owls.
Summer Celebration — Held in July or August. Most recently the celebration featured a 5k run/walk, an ice cream social, free seedlings, and live music.
Trash Day — Every other year or so, the Association hires a large dumpster and members can dispose of large items such as furniture or scrap building material.
Lake Testing — The Association pays for testing of the lake water and also volunteer members check the clarity during the summer on both lakes. (See Lake clarity/testing for more information.)
Area Directory — The Association published a directory of addresses and phone numbers for residents of the two lakes and surrounding area.
Pequaywan Lakes Area Sign — Association members volunteered to create the sign and flower garden at the corner of West Branch Road and Hwy. 44 near the Township Sign. Read about the history of the garden and view photos.
Minnesota Lakes and Rivers Advocates membership — MLR is the only advocacy group solely focused on protecting Minnesota’s lake and river heritage for current and future generations by forging powerful links between lakes, lake advocates and policy makers. View their website.
